I've discovered Wii Fit
This is quite a departure from my usual posts, but I'm having so much fun, I thought I'd share that here. Whoever invented the Wii Fit is a genius. Let's see how long this keeps me motivated, of course. Anything to do with exercise (which doesn't involve dancing) rarely holds my interest for long. I'm just not a sporty person at all. Never was. Hated Physical Education at school, and was always below average in any kind of competition. But of course, as years pile up on me, and make my body shrink and go all flabby, I know I have to do something. The great thing about the Wii, as opposed to any workout machine, is the interactive aspect of it. Not only are you not alone, but someone talks to you - today, as I was doing the run, I had my daughter's avatar preceding me (loved that) even though she was already at school - and your progress are chartered, and celebrated... Yep, love the thing. Of course, I could get all that by going to the gym, but that's precisely the beauty of it. I don't have to go to the gym, I can stay right at home.

My sister got a Wii fit for Christmas too and loves it. I guess I better go check it out because this flabby old body needs all the help it can get! :)
Yes, Kiki, and let me know what you think. Not sure you can do the wii fit while balancing your laptop the way you do it on your stationery bike, though :)
I can't imagine, Katia! I mean I can't imagine me on the Wii :-) But you've made me curious and even though the thought of it makes me laugh (and will make my children laugh even harder I bet)I think I may go out and buy one.

The girls love it, too, by the way :) I bet your children will, too. It's a little strange at the beginning, but the strangeness really doesn't last. Didn't at all for me, at least. Let me know...
Katia, I'm exactly the same! Hate doing exercise of the sake of exercise. But since we got the Dog I've been forced out (in sub-zero weather) to walk him twice a day. Wish I could put him on the Wii Fit!!
Yes, Nandini, I read your account of the walks with the dog in freezing temperatures. I'm not at all a dog person, but I hear that walking outside is actually a great way to get your creative juices flowing, so it's probably a blessing in disguise for you :) I think I'll keep the wii fit, but try and combine it with more outdoor activities. I tried yoga in a new golf place that opened recently in Hyderabad (not at all a golf person, either, but a friend invited me) and it was so beautiful : the peace and quiet, and the view... That, walking once a week, and the wii fit, if I can keep it up, I'll be happy.
